How to complete identity verification (KYC)

KYC is only required if you want to order and activate the Solid Card & deposit through Card & Bank transfer.

Updated September 10, 2026

KYC is required for:

  • Bank deposits
  • Debit / credit card deposits
  • Local currency deposits (see the note on TransFi below)
  • Getting the Solid Card

Crypto wallet deposits do not require KYC.

Steps

  1. Open the Wallet tab. If you haven't verified yet, you'll see a Get verified prompt under your card. You can also start from the card activation screen by tapping Verify now.
  2. Submit a valid government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID). Any issuing country is accepted.
  3. Complete a quick live selfie to confirm it's you
  4. Upload a proof of address showing you live in a supported country (utility bill, bank statement or similar, dated within the last 3 months). This is what determines your card eligibility.
  5. Complete the verification flow in one session

The identity check usually completes within a few minutes. The card partner then confirms your eligibility and you'll get an email from Solid once your card is approved. Only that email means you're good to go.

Important

  • If you leave the flow early, you'll need to restart
  • Make sure your camera and lighting are clear
  • Complete verification from the country shown on your proof of address

Who runs the check: the Solid Card is issued by Rain or Wirex depending on your country of residence. On the Rain program, verification is handled by Rain. On the Wirex program, it is handled by Sumsub, Wirex's identity verification provider. You will see that name during the flow. The program is assigned automatically and the steps are the same either way. See KYC verification — rejections, wrong country, and unsupported regions.

Local currency deposits (TransFi): funding your card in your local currency from your bank or mobile money wallet is powered by TransFi, which runs its own one-time verification the first time you use it. It is separate from your card KYC, so you may be asked to verify again even if your card is active. Have the same government-issued ID ready. See Deposit your local currency into Solid.

Note on availability: KYC and a supported country are required for the Solid Card and Virtual Accounts. Solid Savings requires neither and is available worldwide, so you can create an account and deposit crypto to earn yield from anywhere.
